At Lexington Parade, Adamstown Heights, we transformed an unusable basement into a considered second storey with 2.7m ceiling heights, adding 121m² of floor space to the existing home.
Working within mine subsidence requirements, the project involved significant rock excavation, 2.2m-high retaining walls embedded into rock, and a complete rebuild of the existing underhouse structure alongside an almost complete existing home renovation. Initially designed around underpinning the entire home, the engineering approach was refined during construction to deliver a more feasible solution for the site.
From the preliminary process through to completion, we worked closely with our clients and Your Home Designs across the architectural and interior design, with an extensive joinery package by Garry Jeans Kitchens.
What began with a shared vision and a Preliminary Agreement focused on construction certainty developed into a genuinely collaborative project - and a lasting friendship with our clients.
A technically complex renovation, delivered through considered planning, adaptability and a commitment to the experience of building well.
